Looking through some photos that I took some years ago. Like the concept of all the different people that venture up Kelly's knob for the sunset, but my execution was not quite there.

Munja (Walcott inlet)

Spent two weeks out bush on a biodiversity survey (catching critters- identify critters-release critters). Reasonably rough track in, 4 hours on the Gibb river road then turn off onto the Backsten track for the 10 hour drive to cover the 200km. Lots of digging putting in pit traps and fence lines for the first two days. Then checking clearing and rebaiting for the next 8 days. Had a full moon that set just on sunrise, so out with the camera and tried to capture the moment. Have included some of the critters we caught - bandicoot, quoll, lizard and dunnart.

Marlgu Billabong

Had an early morning today, up at 3:45 gear loaded and on the road by 4:10. The grand plan was to get to Marlgu Billabong for sunrise, snap a few birds in flight then come straight home. Well it almost happened like that. The trip was uneventful (no stray cows on the road), got a couple of pictures from telegraph hill over looking the billabong. Then down to the birds, well there was so many I didn't know which way to look. Managed to capture a few BIF and some that were just sitting. Spent two and a half hours in the little hide that is there before deciding that it was time to go. Got to the junction (left - Parry's creek for a coffee OR right - straight home on the black top). Coffee was calling, but the $15 minimum eftpos meant that I had to have a bacon and egg breakfast as well (not complaining). A casual trip home along the dirt road listening to some tunes. Good morning had by all (me).

Took the new Olympus TG-2 everything proof camera down to Broome. Still coming to grips with not having the control of a DSLR. The pocket size nature had its positives so I will have to get over my control issues. Here are a couple taken with the little pocketable indestructible (almost).

The Grotto, Wyndham, WA

A couple of pictures from the Hash House Harrier walk, travelled Soda creek to the Grotto then down the gorge to the highway. Overcast day meant it was not too hot and the half dozen creek crossing kept the boots well moistened.

Bungle Bungle

Spent a couple of days at the Bungle Bungles tried to get a few shots that weren't the usual type of shot. This was a pano that I put together from the whip snake gorge walk. It was a bit hot down there ( the car temp gauge said 47) so I did not do all the walks I wanted. In addition to this there was no water in the waterholes so a return visit is in order after the wet season.

The lovely wife in her acting debut, she's the one with the grey hair and the very attractive costume. A good night was had by all. Almost didn't make it due to sickness but thought I really should put in the hard yards to support her.

Just completed a 4 day trip from Halls Creek to Kununurra via the Duncan Rd. A few car issues hindered the photo taking opportunities but still enjoyed the trip.
